There's a lot of failed emotional moments, boring scenes or just really drag-out story arcs. I'm not saying the story is bad, quite the contrary, but it's certainly *not* the best story I've experienced in gaming, by a long shot. What is it like when you are applying to find groups? Do you have a lot of what-ifs? What do you look for in recruitment posts that are green or red flags? Has it been difficult to find a group you wanted to stick with? My SO and I have pretty much only ever run our own groups since when we first began as casual raiders so I feel pretty insulated in this sense. I've heard stories of drama blowing up teams or people needing to leave because of it. I'm wondering if I'm just happening to read the worst case scenarios on reddit or if many groups really are "simon says" from one person. We have a BLM so we let him decide what he feels comfortable moving or not moving for, etc. The former is rare since we usually interview people to qualify skill level and personality (culture fit.) As far as prog goes we let the group decide collectively what strats they want to pursue or change because what works for everyone is what will get it done. We've only ever removed players for either poor behaviour or in the case of last tier sadly, too poor peformance for the group's level. I co-lead with my SO and our idea of leadership is that we're simply there to make sure everyone knows what we're doing that day, why wipes are happening (no finger pointing, literally just checking death logs for unseen mechanics), distributing loot fairly, ensuring everyone is showing up on time and finding subs when we need them. Whenever topics of PF vs statics come up for savage in various places, I feel pretty apalled by behaviours and cultures that apparently exist in some statics.
